Beechwood Daycare offers a caring environment for your child, Kindergarten through Grade 6. Priority is given to the students who utilize the service on a full time basis (3 days per week minimum). The program operates daily in the morning from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m., and from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Lunch is included as part of the service when children are registered in Daycare.

The children participate in a variety of different activities. The experienced and qualified staff organizes exciting and varied activities indoors and outdoors, depending on the weather. Playing games of skill, exploring science and ecology, arts and crafts such as marbling of paper, toy making, pop-up cards and printmaking are only part of this exciting program. Teaching life skills such as cooking and baking plays a significant role.

Provided we meet the minimum student enrolment required, Beechwood will offer Daycare Service.
Further information and registration is available by calling the technician of the Beechwood Daycare, Donna Pinchuk at 514-780-8971.

Lunch Program Guidelines

Parents are encouraged to provide a healthy, balanced lunch for their child.

For health reasons including food allergies, the sharing of food is not permitted.

Occasionally, the school's Home and School Association will offer special lunches to students, information will be sent out to parents regarding this optional service at the beginning of the school year.

Students who are a part of the regular lunch program must bring a note if different arrangements are made.

At lunch time, senior and junior students have separate play times outside, thus allowing for more freedom to play and extra safety in the school yard. Grade 4 through 6 students begin the lunch hour by playing outside for 35 minutes and then come in to eat, while Kindergarten through Grade 3 students begin the lunch hour by eating lunch, followed by a playtime outside.

Students must remain in the schoolyard during the lunch, if a student encounters a problem they should discuss this with a lunch monitor. Beechwood Citizens and Peer Mediators will also be present during lunch hours to help younger students.

During the winter, students must be dressed appropriately for outdoor play. All clothing should be clearly labelled with the child's name. Hats, scarves and mitts have the distinct habit of finding their way to the Lost & Found box.

Behaviour during the lunch hour is governed by a few sensible rules that are designed to foster a calm atmosphere.

Children who do not cooperate and follow the school code of conduct may be suspended from the lunch program following a written warning sent to the parent. No refunds will be issued following one month of participation in the program.

Lunch program dues are included for students who have "regular status' in the Daycare program.

Should questions or concerns arise about the lunch program, parents are asked to contact the technician, Donna Pinchuk at 514-780-8971.
